County Magazine Printshop Ltd.

We specialize in books and magazines, plus some commercial printing as well. We have an active client base of about 500 people. Our main magazines are County Magazine, a quarterly feature magazine celebrating people, places and history; Breakaway Magazine, our popular summer visitors' guide to the County; and @Home Magazine, devoted to construction, renovation and gardening. We are located at 289 Main Street in Bloomfield, Lower Level of the historic Bloomfield Town Hall. Our client base is mostly Prince Edward County, though distribution of Breakaway runs from Kingston to Toronto, Barrie and Western Ontario. @Home magazine also extends beyond the County borders into the Quinte area. We launched County Magazine in 1976, and have built a loyal readership through subscriptions and newstand sales over 43 years. It has always been published by Steve Campbell, with the enormous help of friends and family and our regular list of talented writers and researchers. We receive great support from our advertisers, which is testimony to the quality of the publications we're proud to produce. Our excellent team includes designer Janet Davies, and advertising representative Peggy deWitt who have helped us grow through their skills and innovation. As a cub news reporter for The Picton Gazette, I found that feature writing - the stories of County people and the links to our history and heritage - was my strength. When I started my printshop, I missed the contact with County people and their personal stories, and launched County Magazine as a labour of love. It's the kind of business that is best to start when you are young and foolish and willing to work 20 hours a day.
